Difficult as it is to believe, Summer Camp is rapidly approaching. Troop 118 will once again attend Camp Aquehonga on the Ten Mile River Reservation in Narrowsburg, NY. The dates for Summer Camp are Sunday, July 8, 2012 - Saturday, July 14, 2012. The cost for Summer Camp is $380.00 per Scout. Scouts in good standing with Troop 118 will receive a $120.00 stipend from Troop 118, reducing the cost to $260.00. In addition, Greater New York Council is offering a $30.00 discount for early payments. If your full payment is received on or before May 18th, 2012, this discount will reduce your cost to $230.00. All checks should be made payable to Troop 118.

There is an additional discount for scouts who sold popcorn for Troop 118. Each will receive credit toward his camping fee based on his popcorn sales volume. If you earned credit through popcorn sales, the Troop Treasurer, Dave Terwilliger, will contact you with the correct amount due. You can contact him at 534-5258 if you have any questions.

The Greater New York Council medical form was distributed at Parents Night. If you need one, you can download it here. All Scouts are required to submit a complete form, in advance, in order to attend summer camp. This is the only form that will be accepted. It must be completed and returned to Mr. Gold no later than June 8.

Summer Camp is an integral part of the Scouting program. All Scouts, including new Scouts are encouraged to attend. There will be a brief mandatory meeting for the parents of all first time campers at 8PM on June 15. Mr. Jurain or any of the Assistant Scoutmasters would be happy to answer your questions.
